Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix displayed an early talent for sports when she was in high school at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting talent at that time. She finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships within just 10 weeks after her first attempt. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school and signed a professional deal with the athletics company Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic gold at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record of running the 200m in 22.18. The youngest winner of the 200 meters during the World Championships held in Helsinki in 2005. She was able to defend her record time and time again in 2007 beating her long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently at the top of the podium across her diverse competitions during the Olympics that took place at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
